Why is it everyone is suddenly getting a boner over life after death? Does everyone need some special attention so that they can suddenly go 'I'm special, I know why, because Jesus loves me.' Yea, go with that. Sure...keep it up. And then when you die, nothing happens. Not a single little ping on the universal rader of events. You become worm food and the world is a better place because of it.
Of course, this is quite biased coming from an atheist, but what is up with people wanting to keep Test Tube Vegatable alive for sooo long, when heaven is obviously just a hop skip jump away from her bed ridden state? Is there doubt? Is there a tiny little speck that wasn't completely washed away in the praise Jesus sermons that says 'Dude, you die, and thats it. Your done. Nothing else.' that they keep trying to ignore? Now, for all it's worth, the wonderful example of a mordern day matyr on prime time tv was suffering, and if she was living, it wasn't much other then breathing. Her brain was indeed damaged and the only way to bring it back would be stem cell research. I think I feel the pings of irony there.
But lets gone on track. You die, your done for. You don't go to see all your happy cousins and what not...your just dead. Nothing to repair that shell that was once a body interred in the ground. Or, if you have some shred of fucking decency, donating your body to science and people in need of organs. What does this leave? Well, make the most of it. Do good for people, make your passing something people will nod their head and say 'That was a good person.' and deal with the rest of life. Don't be an ass, and don't think your own ego will carry you on. You die, it's gone. Be happy and don't be a slave to someone elses dogma.
