Watching things.

So. Sat down to watch TV tonight, and the only thing we had that I was in the mood for was Justified. Which is good, because we were actually a couple of episodes behind, but it got me thinking.

I would like a show that isn't heavily driven by a/the protagonist's angst and/or lostedness (The Mentalist, Lost Girl), does not involve people regularly

Eh. Disagree with a few of those points, but not invested enough to discuss it, particularly today. Congrats on the article.

Somewhere there's a horror show for me, I'm sure. I'm gonna go rewatch Bedlam or dig up Kolchak or something.

Did you catch the Fades when it was on BBCAm? Not sure if it will get anymore episodes, but that first season was both regularly creepy and also funny and heart-breaking...

I caught the first couple of episodes! It struck me as a bit scattershot, but not bad--worth looking at? (Am completely willing to believe it may not have been as patchy as I remember; I found Carnivale utterly unengaging the first time I watched it, and was blown away the second time.)

It does take a few episodes for it to really focus in and start hitting its stride...

Weirdly, it wasn't that--I watched the first episode and was completely unimpressed. Then I watched the first episode a few months later, and was quietly blown away. It's made me more willing to give shows another shot if I haven't seen a lot of them, although there's still the time constraints.
