Totaly unrelated to my last post (or the ETA about my call to Emergency), how is any kind of Equestiran sport an Olympic Event? It's the horses who are doing all the work! They're the ones with the skills, the human is just sitting ontop of him, kicking his sides and makeing silly faces. Seems to me, the horses should get extra difficulty points ( Read more... )

Actually riding horses is quite a work out. Just staying on them is pretty hard sometimes, especially if they go any faster than a trot. I can only imagine what running and jumping are like.

But for the most part it is the horse doing all "sport" work, so I agree with you there.

And yes, the ASPCA does need to get on their cases about the spurs. If you train a horse correctly no spurs are needed.
