Beauty.....
Obsessed with it, lately (or always, really).
"only our spirits can understand beauty, or live and grow with it. It puzzles our minds; we are unable to describe it in words; it is a sensation that our eyes cannot see, derived from both the one who observes and the one who is looked upon. Real beauty is a ray which emanates from the holy of holies of the spirit, and illuminates the body, as life comes from the depths of the earth and gives color and scent to a flower."
The beach, on saturday, was absolutely perfect. Absolutely beautiful in every way imaginable.
I lived 10 lifetimes
I became a child and played by the tide pools, poking sea anenamies and finding 'dinosaur claws'
I sat and felt the incredible power of the ocean, breathed in it's greatness, it's secrets and lure... and grew silent in awe
I become a lover in the undying wind on the sandy cliffs and crevases, running and dancing and laughing
I climbed trees in a wooded fort, hiding from the voices of real life and made it my home.
I climbed another tree on the top of the world, to overlook our domain, to see the immenseness of our world, to see where we had once played, to see how far we had already lived
We climbed higher, on the other side of the world
ran from the spiders
hid from the "hippo's" far below on the beach, and every other rememberance of some other world we had no part in
I looked down from hundreds of feet up and took in the beautiful greens and blues of little pools down below
grew tired and old while watching the waves calmly moving, the birds hovering in flight and the seals dancing in the waters...
aneneme eyes and beauty that cannot be held in words
old fond love that's rooted deep and aged with time...
"beauty is that which attracts your soul, and that which loves to give and not to receive. When you meet beauty, you feel that the hands deep within your inner self are stretched forth to bing her into the domain of your heart..."
But it wasn't time to grow old forever,
So we ran down the sand cliffs
screaming and laughing
down to the rocks and rough waters splashing far into the air
I lived dangerously and played as close as possible to the crashing waves, completely thrilled by the life they held
captivated
they almost caught me, almost drew me in
but I ran and ran and climbed higher and higher
I lived an eternity in each place
as though I had never lived anywhere else
had never left and never would leave...
Studying everything to study, wanting to know everything there was to know
contemplating the very meaning of everything
then throwing it off and embracing, playing,
LIVING.
We skipped along the cliffs as the sun started to set
Then left quickly before it could say goodbye...
for goodbyes are endings
(and I never want this one to end..)
"Beauty is harmony between joy and sorrow which begins in our holy of holies and end beyond the scope of our imagination."
