An Ode to the Dude I See Every Day in the Library
- a finals week love (?) letter -
(but more like I spend too much time in the library)

Lo! Sup? O Dude, I have seen you so many times in the library during finals week. I held the doors for you that one time, when you were carrying a stack of books and I was carrying several cups of coffee. I pass by you, at your usual spot at the end of the last table before the back wing (where I have built my barricade of books), as I go on my periodic strolls throughout the library to refill my water. I have gazed admiringly at your scattered collection of books, though I only caught one name - Descartes. I feel like I know you so well, spending so much time in the same general area as you, catching your eye so so frequently as I pass between your chair and the bookshelves next to you. Your eyes seem a lovely shade of blue in the glow of your MacBook Pro, like the distant sky outside the library. Perhaps they would be even lovelier in natural light.

O Dude, one day, some day before the end of finals, perhaps we will speak again. Perchance I shall find out your name, and if you are a lax bro or not--
--what's that? You're packing up? Done with your paper already? Goddamn, you and your work ethic.

Well.

I guess I better get back to work then.

what, school
