Yesterday Matt and I went to Maine together. It's kinda special to us because I've gone there for the past three years and he's been going his whole life with his family. Last year about the same time we went to Maine with Todd and Amy and spent the day there. So this year we decided to go and do the things that the both of us enjoy most.
We got there a little after 12 and went right to his dad's camper (he was already staying there at a camp ground) and had lunch with him. After lunch we went to York and shopped in all the little stores along York Beach. We got some little nick nacks and then went to Goldenrod Kisses for taffy and then we went towards the Nubble Light. Of course we had to stop for Brown's Ice Cream. Matt was a little upset because they didn't have "cookie batter" flavor. I tried a new flavor, chocolate orea mouse and it was amazing. Lol!
After we drove over to see the Nubble Light. We attempted to repeat the pictures that we took last year. It was kinda difficult considering we didn't have anyone with us to take pictures of us together. So thanks to self timer digital cameras, we actually got realy good pictures. Matt being the goofy guy that he is had to take silly pictures too. It was a lot of fun.
Next we went to York beach and walked along the shoreline. It was really beautiful. At about six we went back to have dinner with Matt's dad and his grandmother. We had lobster, steamers and corn on the cob. I thought I wouldn't like steamers but the whole meal was delicious. I'm glad that I tried it. After dinner we walked aroudn the campground. It was special because Matt used to play there as a kid and it was cool to be somewhere that I had seen him play in his childhood videos. At the end of the walk, we went back to the camper to pick up his grandmother and drove her back to the house that she was staying in. On the way we actually drove by a house that Matt's grandfather built. That was really cool. It sounds dumb but it meant a lot to me to share something that important with him.
We started home about 8 and actually made it home a little before 10. We took a different way home then planned but it turned out for the best. Overall I'm really glad that we went on the trip because it was fun to get away together and just spend some time doing something that we both love to do. I'm really gonna miss him and I didn't really realize how much until the trip. But we still have the rest of the summer before I go so hopefully we can spend more time just being together.
Sorry for the cheesy update but I wanted to write about it. Talk to you guys later. Love ya
