But on top of that list he knows there's something far more important. He's had enough time to think while getting the Impala back here and he leaves her dented in the parking lot, making his way up to Chris' apartment, taking the steps two at a time.
He's surprisingly calm when he knocks the door, and it should surprise him, but doesn't. Maybe he just feels blank, maybe he's in shock, but in Dean's world he's doing the right thing now, and that'll maybe be enough to get through until tomorrow, and then tomorrow he can find something else to work from, and keep doing that until he finds a solution, or until there's nothing more he can do.]
