Wow! This series is so interesting! All the nautical details like the bells of the watch and the names of the sails and stuff are great! Also, the characterizations of Jack and Beckett are outstanding! It's nice to see how sane Jack can be in this :D. Can't wait for more, hopefully!!!! ^_^

I'm a sailing geek, got to get the nautical stuff in! I think this is where Jack goes from being a little odd to being rather mad.

Wow.

I'll not go into detail this time. A great chapter! It really shows that you love writing about nautical procedures, and I love how you include those details here and there. It really supports your tale!

And hell, do I feel with Jack! When Beckett gave the order to "open fire"... I caught my breath. It was.. as if I had been hit. Very nicely done! That's how a story should affect the reader!

Amazing! I just read what there is of this series in one sitting, and I'm enthralled. The nautical details and brisk writing style make me feel as if I'm reading a Patrick O'Brian novel (which is, for the record, a deeply heartfelt compliment). Jack and Beckett are spot-on in character. I can't wait to see what happens next!

Many thanks for the compliment. I'm just getting into Patrick O'Brian (finished HMS Surprise last night) so it could be that I'm unconsciously imitating - not setting out to copy him, but he's not a bad model after all. :) Glad you're enjoying my efforts!

Catching up on this. Wonderful characterisations, as always, Beckett giving the order to open fire while drinking his tea was very effective, and the last paragraph made me shiver, poor Jack and the Pearl and all those men aboard. Great backstory!

Yay for the nautical stuff! I love it when people get it in there, I think it gives the story an edge if you can believe the author knows what they're talking about, and it helps put you in the story in my mind. ;)

I absolutly adore your Beckett ~ he's spot on, it's like he's straight out of the movies. Nice last line too, linking in that theme in AWE.

I like getting the nautical stuff in. Also it helps me to keep my mind on details so when I next go sailing I haven't forgotten it all! Thanks for commenting again.
