I had one of those dreams that really freak me out last night... the kind that are so realistic I think I'm awake.
I was in a living room with Brett, Tony, and some other people I don't know, including a young couple with three toddler-age daughters. There was a couch and several chairs, enough for everyone to have a seat but one of the toddlers and me, so I was sitting on the rug and the toddler was running around in the middle of the circle.
There was a lull in conversation, so I described the dream I posted on August 17 here. One guy said the Republican in the dream sounded like one of the other potential nominees besides McCain; I think he meant Ron Paul, but he couldn't remember the name. There was an uncomfortable silence due to mention of politics.
Then Tony said, "Let me propose the next topic of conversation: Nothing." Everyone laughed, and then everyone was quiet for a few moments.
Then I said, "Let a = 0, ..."
The little girl tripped and fell on her tail bone right in front of me. I tried to console her by patting her back, but she started crying at being touched. Then I woke up.
I think Tony was making a Zen joke, and I followed it with a joke about the mathematical concept of nothing, though the little girl stole my thunder.
What does it all mean?
math,
dreams,
humor
