Bryan Vershaw Reece
Funeral for Bryan Vershaw Reece, 46, of Decatur was today, Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, at 10 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with the Rev. David Lewis and the Rev. Ron Reinhardt officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation was Monday, Nov. 29 from 6 to 8 at the church.
Mr. Reece died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004, at Parkway Medical Center. He was born July 13, 1958, in Berea, Ky., to Don Reece and Gwendolyn Downes Reece. He was a schoolteacher in the Decatur school system for 24 years. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Rhonda S. Reece; one son, Ryan Andrew Reece of Decatur; one daughter, Jessica Lynne Reece of Decatur; his parents, Don and Gwendolyn Reece of Decatur; one brother, Kevin Reece and wife, Pamela, of Huntsville; and one sister, Paige McCormick and husband, Mark, of Tuscaloosa.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or to Hospice of the Valley.
Mr. Reece was my 7th grade Civics teacher. I will always think back to the things he taught me. I'll miss you Mr. Reece.
