I'm not the only one...
Anyone who knows me, knows that I don't see Lord of the Rings as the end all be all of fantasy. in fact I've always thought that it kinda sucked, especially when you compared it to Robert E Howard's or especially Jack Vance's work. Who cares about the fact that he created an elven language. He should have spent that time tighten that plot up. Gary Gygax felt the same way.
