Katt stood in front of Leon's office for quite some time, pondering whether or not it was a good idea to go in.
Unknowingly, she had been charged by Leon with the task of ending Falco Lombardi's life, but despite her rage something inside her prevented the teenage catgirl from making a move as promised.
She wanted to kill him. She really did. But before she could do so, she had to confront the man who had unintentionally spilled the beans about his affair with the boy she loved. She had already heard his fake niece describe Lombardi's actions, which filled her with a rage she'd never felt before, but in hindsight something seemed...off. She couldn't put her finger on it, but perhaps some reassurance from Leon himself would confirm her actions one way or another.
She exhaled slowly, as if attempting to release the butterflies in her stomach, and walked into his office, closing the door behind her. "H-hi."
The chameleon was fidgeting with a pile of class papers when he heard the door close shut- he jumped in his seat and looked up at his familiar visitor.
"C-Chamille's not here," his eyes lowered back to the paperwork on his desk. "I'll send her any message you have for her."
Lombardi was obviously still alive or there would have been school-wide commotion of it. Besides, he was able to peg Katt for being the type to not actually slay anyone with a scalpel. She's a really sweet, yet sassy girl who's shown an obsessive interest in the bird. Spending two nights with her this school year under an alter ego has shown him that.
Obviously with the intentions that Katt currently has for being in this office, she didn't leave.
He reached for a small jar in his desk drawer and popped two lithium pellets in his mouth. "Is there something else you want?"
The silence that followed the lizard's question was...pretty intense. For Katt anyway. She didn't really know how to start this conversation. Unlike "Chamille", Leon had always seemed...unapproachable to her.
She couldn't just start the conversation with 'Yeah your niece told me to kill the bird - that alright with you?' But she felt it was a waste of time to talk around the subject at hand.
She stopped leaning against the door and sat down in the chair opposite Leon, sweating bullets. "I've been hanging out with Chamille...and um...she told me some...stuff." She scratched her head, recalling the other alleged affairs that 'Chamille' had mentioned. If those affairs had pissed Leon off as much as they pissed her off...
Crap! She's going to talk about that night! It was a nice night, though! at the park.
He was getting nervous now at blowing his cover. He should probably just tell her the truth, especially since he didn't even know why he's persistant with the "Chamille" escapades when around this girl.
Then he was also curious of how she would react if he told her anything about that night with Lombardi. She still has the scalpel probably... after all... but she still doesn't look like the type to kill somebody with it.
Also, she's probably an ameteur with the knife so he couldn't take the moment to fantasize personal torture inflicted upon his body like he sometimes would... and it would also be wierd coming from her!
And of course, there's the wonder of how he himself would react to bringing the story back up. Will it fill him with violent rage or make him the sissy that cried to Panther a while back?
He nodded in response to her question, pill jar still in his hand.
She wasn't a hundred percent convinced, eyeing the jar of pills in Leon's hand. "Considering how much Chamille knew about your...situation, you probably tell each other everything, huh? So...you probably know about my feelings for...him, and how I reacted when I found out about...you two."
She shifted slightly in her seat before continuing. "I'm...sorry, if me blowing up at...him..." (she didn't feel comfortable saying Falco's name in front of the chameleon) "...made things weird or awkward for you."
She didn't really want to apologize, but Chamille had made Leon look like a victim in all this. Her pride was taking a hit right about now, but it had to be said.
He signed. "Yes yes. You were as disgusted as I am at Lombardi's actions and he's a dirty ho." he clutched the pill jar tightly. "LOTS OF DRAMA ENSUED AND I SAID EVERYTHING I HAD TO SO WHY WON'T THE SITUATION DIE!?"
No inanimate objects were killed due to lack of knife. Leon huffed a few breaths before realizing the decibels and downing another pill.
"I'm fine, Miss Monroe." He picked up a pen and started scribbling on a paper stack* "I haven't even seen the damn bird in a week."
Katt winced and slumped in her chair when the teacher yelled. After he calmed down and began writing, she sat up again.
"I-I want the situation to die too." She said finally after a few minutes of silence. She reached in her purse and pulled out the scalpel she was given. Her hand trembled and her eyes started to well up a bit. She didn't look at the lizard, but kept her eyes focused on the scalpel in her hand.
"I...promised your niece...that I would...remedy the situation..." She looked up at him finally - essentially a scared little girl. "...should I?"
The professor put down the pill jar and pen, and got up from his seat. He felt a little sore in the rear since his tail fell asleep from being crammed between his back and the back of the chair. He was in the office all morning. One hand massaging the thick of his tail, he paced over to the frightened little cat and stared down at her for a brief moment before snatching the blade end of the knife and chucking it behind him where it hit the wall across the room and clattered on the floor.
"No. She can't always get what she wants."
He paid no attention to the blood that began to seep from his hand.
Katt practically collapsed onto her knees, feeling both a sense of relief and heartwrenching sadness. She couldn't get her revenge, but at least she wouldn't have to carry this burden anymore. She looked up at the teacher, noticing the blood on his hand immediately. "Oh..."
She reached in her purse and took out a handkerchief. She never used the damn thing, but it was apparently a requirement of every schoolgirl to carry one. She quietly took the teacher's wounded hand and, without a word, wrapped the handkerchief around it and tied it tightly (but not too tight!) to bandage the wound.
Finally, she looked Leon in the eyes and said, "Thank you, Mr. Powalski. Y-you're not so bad after all."
'After all?' Well, she could have meant either the Lombardi situation or his past as a professional assassin which led to a teaching career cutting up corpses.
Either way, Leon did his best not to show too much of a soft side, but was really accepting of Katt's care to his hand. He never really cared to stop dripping blood. He would have left it alone the whole day, but he really couldn't refuse this girl's niceness. Nobody's.... ever realy nice to him!
Aside Katt, chansey, Samus and Peach now, anyway
But samus is a bit of a jerk that likes to see him fail. But its a charm he sees in her.
He really didn't know what to say so he said nothing.
He didn't really have to. She stood up, finally smiled - just a little bit! - and composed herself. "I'll...let you get back to work now. Sorry for taking up so much of your time." She turned and opened the door to his office, stepping outside.
The chameleon smiled weakly, but her back was already turned so she couldn't notice how similar that smile was to "Chamille's".
He closed the door let out a deep sigh. At least he didn't have to tell her, 'Yeah, I had a sexual affair with Falco Lombardi!' and to top it off, she didn't ask for Chamille's whereabouts!
His seminar's to start in less than half an hour. Usually Lombardi came to assist him as a senior model student, but he's probably not going to make it this week and Leon surely wasn't going to ask him!
Door open or closed?:Closed
