Olympics 2010 Week II

Mar 05, 2010 23:36

Woahh.....I have so much to cover......I think it's all gonna sound systematic though.....I think I'll start from week 2 of the Olympics.

Feb 23 I went out with my friends to downtown and ate ramen.

It's Shiro Ramen not a typical flavour. It tasted like cream of corn really yummy~

Next we went to check out Pacific Centre and went to Metro afterwards. What's funny is that I met up with other friends who I thought were supposed to be studying...but then they thought I was supposed to be working....fail.....We went to Aoyama for dinner and I ordered the tempura ebi curry~ It was a touch spicy but still good ^ ^.

Hamburg w/Hayashi sauce and Curry.             Fruit Crepes for Dessert~ We also had a fruit parfait~

On
Feb 25 thursday night I went to check out the O-zone again. The place looked prettier at night.

I also checked out a live band that was performing.

Feb 26 friday I went out the entire day to downtown and the live Vancouver City Centre place since the Olympics were gonna end soon at that time. I lined up for about ~30min to get a CTV one more year pin. I guess it was worth it since it was a limited edition pin. I chatted with random ppl in the lineup about the Olympics and getting special stuff like pins and the coke bottles. That's one of the things I enjoyed about the Olympics: the fact that everyone let's down their wall and chat with people like we're friends. After downtown I went to the Vancouver City Live Centre place where the coke place was. At first I was skeptical about lining up for the coke place since the lineup appeared to reach the 1hr wait point. It was raining as well -__-.....So I went to check out the other venues like Acer and Panasonic. But there was nothing interesting...the Acer place just had computers and touch screens....The Panasonic place was a theatre for a 3D film about the Olympics.

So I decided to line up for the coke place. The lineup wasn't so bad since the Hockey game where Canada vs. Slovakia hockey game was showing on the big screen. I usually don't watch hockey but since it was the Olympics I was interested. Finally we got in and I guess it was worth it since I got a free coke and the glow foam bottle. It was tedious getting the glow bottle. First you would get the limited edition coke bottle and drink it. Next you had to play this recycling game where you catch bottles using a recycling bin (kinda like the wii though since it was a game that sensed your movements on a screen) to get a sticker for your bottle after the guy scans it.....Then you would give up your limited edition aluminum bottle and exchange it for the glow foam bottle in a machine....yeah......(but I took a aluminum bottle from the recycling bin at the exit so I kinda cheated lol and ended up getting both a foam glowing bottle and an aluminum bottle.)

There was a person performing Acrobatics inside too. So random....and the workers would dance around everytime Canada scored or get a metal. It was a crazy venue lol full of "happiness"(they kept saying it like it was their slogan). And a random worker would pop out of the wall announcing the scores.

For the next few days until the week ended I played Rock Band 2 with my bro. My fav song has to be "We're Kids In America". At first I wanted Rock Band 2 because of Eye of the Tiger. But now We're Kids In America is my song in Rock Band 2. That song was played in the Digimon Movie(dubbed) so it brought back a lot of childhood memories for me. I usually play drums and once in a while fill in for vocal. What's awesome is that I can create my own character and replicated Gokkun hehehe^ ^. Our band name is Vongola Family (-) since Vongola and Vongola Family are already taken as band names online. I tried to make a Hibari...but he doesn't look like him -__-...The cons of Rock Band 2 is that when you choose a guy chara and sing a vocal with a female voice or vice versa it's really disturbing......Hibari singing with female voice is not a pretty sight o__0.....And the song "I'm Gonna Getcha" is actually a Stalker song...I thought it was a one of those normal pop songs they showed for commercials and other tv shows...but no... the original lyrics have stuff like, "I'm gonna meetcha, I'm gonna meetcha, I'll meetcha, I will drive past your house, And if the lights are all down, I'll see who's around." and "And if the lights are all out, I'll follow your bus downtown, See who's hanging out." Talk about Creepy.....sounds exactly like what Gokkun would do to Tsuna hahahaha xDD.

I watched the hockey game where Canada versed US again for the gold metal. It was epic!!!!! When they won my whole neighbourhood(which is usually very quiet)  was screaming and cheering and you could hear cars honking. I can say I'm proud of being Canadian and proud of living here. Vancouver and Canada usually doesn't get the spotlight in anything..even though they filmed most of the twilight films here, The Dark Knight, Woverine and other blockbuster films here...There's also Peter Ciao LOL.

After the Olympics ended I felt really sad...everyone's leaving from here and there won't be any more crazy parties/cheering on the streets. Everyplace like the O-zone and downtown is empty now....I had so may regrets too....like not getting such and such or going to some places....well I had fun and tried to get the best out of the Olympics here while it lasted. The mascots are cute too~ I got a plushie set of them for 50% off and got more McDonald mascot toys. I have to admit...those two weeks were prby the best two weeks/break of my life. I still see ppl with those Olympic mittens, mascot keychains and other Canada clothing/accessories. Everyone's still talking about the games and what they did during the break. But now I have to move on and face reality (reality of school 'sobs'). 'sighs'......And That's my report of the final epic week of my break.

Here's the album for week II

ramen, olympics, o-zone, rock band 2, aoyama cafe, downtown, mascots, parfaits
