I'm chasing a shadow, when you're not there

Today's been a busy day. Yesterday, Stephanie from Snelling Personnel called me to tentatively schedule me to interview with Overby-Seawell sometime today. She emailed me information, and their websites yesterday afternoon. So I've been reading up on the company, getting togeth my suit, my resume, etc, all in preparation for my interview today at 11:30 a.m. @ Snelling. I interviewed with who would be my boss, Rick Case, and the HR Manager Dana Henley. They were both very nice down-to-earth people. I was pretty nervous in the start of my interview, which I think you could hear in my voice, as it wavered, and I told them I was nervous, but I think I held my ground pretty well and wowed them with all that I knew about the position and the company. I think they were impressed. I'd like to say I passed the interview with flying colors. If they do decide to hire me, I'd have to meet with the people at Compass Bank (that's where I'd be stationed), and if they thought I would blend in with their company culture, I'd go through a background/criminal check and a drug test. Rick said that the decision could be made tomorrow or as late as Friday. I bought a Thank You note, and I plan to mail it off to them tonight. I talked to Stephanie interview and told her how things went. I'd be making probably about 4K more than I'm making now. So any advancement in the money area, would suit me just fine. The position is called "Client Service Representative." I'd have to go to ATL for a week for training, and that would be all expenses paid by them. It'd just kinda scary thinking that I could go from my easy/stress-free/flexible job to a different job, not sure what waters I'm really jumping into. It's a risk. But you have to take risks to get rewards. That's always been my motto. Ultimately, I think I would be happy in this new role at Compass Bank, and I think I could do well. Just keeping my fingers and toes crossed, and if it's meant to be, it will happen for me, and if not, there will be other opportunities to go after.

State Farm Insurance called me actually this morning wanting to see if I was going to come in for pre-employment testing tomorrow. They had sent me an email the day before, but I knew I probably wouldn't be able to get off from work, so I had to ask to come in late to work today for today's interview. But Sarah set me up for a time to come for testing on Monday @ 2:30 p.m. Hopefully I will be able to cancel if Overby-Seawell hire my ass.
