(no subject)
lets start this off right... i got a job last week!!! im working with my roommate Erin in for the school of continuing education. Its just like the office job i did with my mom over the summer, only its completely different. Its an on-campus job so that means i only make minimum wage, but the good news about that is minimum wage went up from 5.15 (i think, thats what it was my freshman year) to 6.50, so i have no complaints. Last weekend was the greatest. Girls retreat on friday, then saturday i had dinner with my old girlies and Joanne. we talked till 2 in the morning and me and some girls had a good old fashion slumber party like we all used to have in 7th grade but you always had to be quiet because the parents were asleep, well no parents, and not even any roommates were there so it was a great time.
This weekend has been interesting too, First off i bought a computer from my friends for $150 but it was raised to $200 cuz i wanted the light up keyboard and mouse. i decided that because im rollin in the dough with my minimum wage job that i would splurge, Im so excited!!!! i finally have a computer. No more stinkin library trips for me!!!!! i cant wait till school gets out. A few friends and I are taking a trip to tennessee the week after school gets out, i know whats so exciting about tennessee???? i dont know but its gonna be so fun were staying in such a fancy cabin its gonna be the first vacation ive ever taken without parents!!!!!!!! Erin and i, plus others might be going to New York for alternative spring break, we were supposed to have the forms in yesterday to save $25, but we forgot, we better still go erin!!!!
So for once i actually watched the superbowl, well sort of. I never knew what an event it was. There were jets flying over the stadium and former presidents were there. I just think its all dumb, there does not need to be so much hype for a football game!!!!!!
so yesterday i was over at my friends house and i got on the topic of Indians (not the cheroke kind, the patel kind) and that exactly what i said to my friends because they thought i meant cheroke....and none of the four of them knew what i was talking about when i said Patel. i was outraged!!!!! Did they seriously not know what a patel is? things are just so different between northern and southern Illinois. To people from southern Illinois, the word scank, or scanky means dirty or filthy. To me its means you are a slut, My friend from the south thinks that theres has to be somewhere in schaumburg with country roads....she claims there has to be dirt roads somewhere, by is she in for a rude awakening, when you dont live in the country there arent country roads.
