Finally I've had some interest in my CV. Unfortunately I am vastly over qualified for any 'normal' office administration work and am either getting the equivalent of a cold shoulder or straight out rejections (I am going to remember this moment when it comes to query letters and submissions). Given than I earnt roughly ten grand more in my previous telly work than anything I could reasonably expect to get responses for, and that my previous telly work made me a project co-ordinator/ office manager/ PA all-in-one I'm having a little trouble finding things I could reasonably get responses for. Mostly the admin work is drudge work; filing, photocopying, answer the phone kind of thing. Nothing exciting and nothing that anyone looking at my roughly translated 'real world' CV would offer to me.
Until yesterday that is. A recruitment company advertising a Literature Co-ordinator for an electronics company seemed a little interested. I'm a lot interested because it involves proof reading and copy editing and I'm doing a distance learning course on that already. But it has all gone silent again today so I'm trying not to get my hopes up. It's hard though, other than 8 days on Top Gear re-edits I've been out of work since the end of May and my overdraft isn't going to last much longer.
