Logistics of room and summer from S.C.

So, it's been about a month and a half since I last posted. It seems as though the time was going so slowly, and now summer's almost gone. I stopped working a few weeks ago. Work went well, I think. Got to know the people I had worked with in previous years better, and there were some interesting characters this year.

In my weeks off, I finished my work on my desk. I sanded it, Alex helped me paint it (a nice purple color), and I detailed it in white. I put the handles back in, and then found a chair I could fix up to go with it. I painted it white, and my mom and I put extra padding on the seat and covered it in a nice denim fabric. So, now I should have all the furniture I need for my room next year! A purple and white desk, a white and blue chair, a yellow bookcase, a white and light colored wood bed, and a light brown wardrobe. I will have three large drawers under the bed that will be good for things such as sheets and blankets, and heavier things like pants. The wardrobe has a hanging space with a shelf above it, and an alongside cabinet with shelves and three drawers for other things that can be folded! I'm worried that the wardrobe is a bit big, but it should all work out ok, I think. I don't want to worry about painting the walls, so the colorful furniture should help brighten up the room. :D

In addition, I got to do some of the other things I'd wanted to do this summer. I went to RenFaire (a good time was had by all, I think), got to hang out with Jessica some, and got to see Alex a lot. I've been able to see Heather, Paul, and the kids more, too. They are moving in right next to us, practically, as soon as the house is done.

And right now, I'm in South Carolina, visiting Andy! It's very hot here during the day, although the nighttimes are excellent. They have a great pool at their apartment- I went swimming twice today. The campus seems pretty nice, although their capitol building is not as impressive as ours, I think.

There's not much summer left, but I intend to get as much in as possible! I plan to go to karaoke at Bogey's Bar, State Fair, get in a few dr's appointments, and perhaps watch Return of the King, all in the week after I get back and before we head off to GenCon! And right after that, I move in to the new apartment.

Still to do in S.C. are going to the apparently awesome Thai restaurant, floating down the river on a tube, going to the nation's smallest National Park, going to Charleston, and, of course, the beach!!
