It's what you've all been waiting for...
Presenting my second Zoid: Garish the Pink and Shiny Purple Mosasledge (with Metallic blue bits)!
"Garish" for short.
(Pronounced "Gary" with an "-ish")
My first custom job: The original colour was a dark green, so I couldn't go with green. What colour goes with orange hatches and blue blox? Purple! I randomly selecting a purple pot and started on the torpedo barrel.
I decided that all shiny purple would be a bit boring, so tried to look for a non-shiny purple to match with. Unfortunatly, there was nothing but a weak ink, not the rich dark purple I was thinking of. The next best thing? Pink! Bwahahahah! Started working on the tail, painting the blade shiny purple (bit of finesse needed there). When that was done, did the underside. La-dida-dida...
But then, dilemma! I ran into a colour clash. Neither purple nor pink go well with orange. What colour to do? I contemplated yellow or gold, but neither seemed quite right..... Then I saw it! Shiny blue! A complementary colour, and it also matches the blocks, and goes with purple! Beautiful!
The pink streaked a bit, so I had to do several coats. Also I got a bit over-enthusiastic and got some blotches where I should have let it dry for a bit. But overall, it's come out really nicely. Not bad for about 4 hours work.
