“You seriously better get going though,” Blaine said. “Mr. Hummel definitely won’t be nearly as willing to listen to your woeful story as I was.” Dave nodded reluctantly, but made no move to get up from his seat. Blaine watched, seemingly amused.
“Tell you what,” Blaine said, “I’m going to go use the restroom, then get a coffee from the cafeteria. By the time I get back, you need to be gone.” Blaine raised an eyebrow. “Deal?”
“Deal,” Dave said, nodding. Blaine started walking towards the door. “Hey, Blaine?” The brunet turned back towards him.
“Yes?”
“I guess um… just… thanks,” Dave muttered. “For the advice and everything. I guess you’re not a total douche bag after all.”
Blaine smirked.
“David Karofsky, we may make a Prince Charming out of you yet,” he said, and with a wink, Blaine glided out of the room, oblivious to Dave’s flushed face.
“Whatever,” Dave mumbled to himself. He glanced at Kurt, who was still blissfully unconscious. Dave stood up, and slowly brought his hand up to Kurt’s face. As his fingers brushed against Kurt’s cheek, Kurt winced. Dave immediately jerked his hand back.
“I’m sorry,” Dave whispered. “Sorry Kurt.” Kurt remained utterly still. Dave sighed, his gaze lowering to Kurt’s lips.
“Goodnight Sleeping Beauty,” Dave said quietly, his eyes fixated on Kurt’s lips. A small voice in his mind screamed for Dave to close the gap between them, and kiss the smaller boy while he had a chance… but a louder voice protested. It wouldn’t be right. It would be exactly the sort of thing Kurt would expect him to do… to take advantage of him while he was unconscious. But Dave was going to prove him wrong.
‘I’ll make it up to you. I’ll earn your forgiveness and trust, I promise. Just give me a chance.’ Dave swore to himself.
“I’ll see you soon Fancy,” Dave said as he stood, smiling softly at Kurt’s unconscious form.
‘Love you’.
