Lost Scene
“Well, fuck.” Shishido raked a hand through his hair, sitting down on the chair just behind him. Ohtori nodded a little, his face drawn of colour, and his shoulders slumped. “I’m really sorry, Choutarou. For your sister and you.” “Thanks.”
“How is she?”
“A bit battered but she’s okay. They got her bag, so her cards and keys and phone and stuff, as well as some other things they could grab from the hall. She’s in the hospital tonight but she’ll probably be home tomorrow.” “Bastards.”
“I wish I’d have been the one at home.” the taller boy slumped a little further again, and slowly rubbed an eye.
Shishido was suprised at his own fury at this idea and of how immensely protective he suddenly felt over Ohtori and his family. “I wish it was me!” he snarled “I’d have kicked their fucking asses.” “Shishido-san, they were armed. They’d have killed you if you’d try to fight back.” The second-year sighed a little, “Real life makes a poor action movie, Shishido-san” “Better that, than them harming you or your sister.”
Ohtori sat back again, contemplating or spacing out, Shishido couldn’t tell. “My mother says that the police are all over the house taking samples and stuff. She said to maybe not come back before it was cleared up. I’m going to go and see my sister now but can I stay at yours tonight?” Shishido glanced over at him, his doubles partner looked very young and vulnerable all of a sudden. “Sure. I’ll let my parents know.” “Thanks, Shishido-san.”
The older boy turned away, just as his teammates came over to talk to Ohtori, both of their faces clearly showing that something had happened. Carefully, casually, Shishido squeezed Ohtori’s hand under the dining room table as he made a move to stand and phone home. And for just of a fraction of a second, Ohtori looked at ease.

This was terribly sad, though my inner fangirl squirmed with glee at protective!Shishido here. I do so love him like that (and I believe it to be entirely canon, at that).
I think Shishido needs to invite him in his bed later that night and cuddle him to sleep.
