Does anyone know if someone who had their house/trailer burnt down can still receive mail?  I had heard that the post office keeps it in a special place for them: is that true?

I'm trying to get in contact with someone, but all I had was their home address and phone number.  And, well, they don't have a home (or a home phone) anymore.
