New anime I have started (ep. 1 only)
(Note: the links below may contain spoilers. Click at your own risk. The ratings I give are just based on the first episodes.)
These are the first episodes of some anime I have recently started watching. I usually use links because I am too lazy to describe the plots myself, not because I am unable to articulate them. :p
CLANNAD - The long-anticipated anime based on the "Key/Visual Arts" visual novel. Looks very promising; once again Kyoto Animation outdid themselves in their production. The music from the game is used so the soundtrack is excellent. They have covered many of Key's works, including Kanon and AIR. Hopefully Planetarian will be next. Rating: Everyone
Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpuchou - I've just discovered this series, and it is one of the best "zombie"/action anime I have seen in a long while, with great animation and plot development. The second season "Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpucho Tou (2nd Act)" has just started so I have some catching up to do with the first season. Rating: Mature
Shinkyoku Soukai Polyphonica - Based on the visual novel. I think I will follow this for a while yet; the animation is great, the plot has potential, and I find that there are some Chrono Crusade tendencies in it, especially between the two main characters. Rating: Older Teen
Shakugan no Shana II (Second) - No sufficient link for this, so you have to put up with my version of things. Yuuji, Shana et.al. have returned, and not only have to deal with the continuing threat of the Bal Masque trio who is after Yuuji's Reiji Maigo, but a new Tomogara who repeatedly traps certain characters into dreams of past experiences. I LOVED the first Shana series and look forward to watching this series as it unfolds. Rating: Older Teen
Myself; Yourself - Not sure yet if I will follow this. The first episode is rather bland, although the animation is acceptable. Looks like it will be another usual harem anime. I think I will give it another try though; perhaps there will be some (relevant) plot twists that the first episode could not convey. Rating: Older Teen
