As We Stumble Along

NINE of us went to New York this past weekend, the first time I had been since coming to BU (preposterous). I hadn't been since August 2001, and my roommate Chris thought it was about bloody time I lost my Broadway virginity. Quite right, thought I, so we bought tickets to The Drowsy Chaperone, an absolutely exceptional show. On a whim, we bought rush tickets to The Fantasticks, which is in previews after a few-year hiatus. Before it closed originally, the show had done over 17,000 performances. The one we saw was a little bizarre but good on the whole. Weather was perfect all weekend.

A few hours ago the British Home Office relaxed their carry-on bag security restrictions so that I am now permitted to bring approved electronics and books. I was going to go slightly mad if I was going to be forced to check my computer, camera and iPod. And not being able to read a book on the plane would have been just wonderful. Anyhow, that's no longer the case so we needn't get riled up over something that isn't happening.

Corey is coming next weekend and we're going to try to catch one of the Red Sox / Yankees games... my wallet is writhing in pain.
