It's October! That means lots of posts of books (and poems!) with the creepy, the crawly, the dead and the... not-so-dead. Gothic literature, scifi, zombies, ravens, ghosts, cthulu... and some kitschy Halloweeny fun because that's my favorite type. :) Not EVERY day in October will be spooky, though, so don't FEAR too much!

(...I actually thought that it was a little bit dull. I loved the concept behind the story, and there were some very funny/very quotable lines in it, but I think maybe the pacing was a little off? I really enjoyed the characters, but something prevented me from being fully invested in the book. HOWEVER, I don't NOT recommend it, lol. And I still need to read the other books in the series!)

I love Halloween & was just thinking that I needed to get some icons for my LJ & FB - I'm excited to see your posts! Also, if you're into zombie lit, have you read DUST by Joan Frances Turner? It's told from the zombie's point-of-view which is pretty interesting. It does drag a little towards the end but the original narration was enough to keep me reading.

You know, I haven't -- although I've heard that Warm Bodies is also from Zombie POV. I'm sort of squeamish about zombies... I prefer them just to be ambivalent shufflers in mainstream society than full-on brain-eaters. LOL!
