Round 1: Challenge 1
Wow. That was a much faster response than I expected. As a result I feel I should get a challenge up.
Before we get started, tiny bit of housekeeping:
Normally challenges will run for 1 week, however since we're still in the sign up period this challenge will run for two weeks to allow people to continue to sign up and get their icons in.
Challenges will run from Friday to Friday, with voting running from Saturday to Monday.
That means there will be a slight overlap, with the next challenge going up the day before voting for the previous challenge starts. Since there are no eliminations you won't be waiting impatiently for results to see if you get to participate so it shouldn't be a problem for everyone to make icons while waiting to see the results from the previous challenge.
If I have totally confused you with this explanation please do say and I'll attempt to word it better lol.
Remember the opportunity to earn bonus points runs out on 28th August so if you want to get yourself a few extra points by promoting the comm check out our sign up post.

So to kick off the first ever round we're going to start with a character related screencap challenge. Our very own Captain Jack Harkness. As we go through the challenges we will have some slightly more technical aspects but this week we're starting simple, make an icon of our Captain from the screencaps provided.
Special Category for this challenge is Best Colour.

- Enter 1 icon only
- You may only use the caps provided
- Icon must meet LJ Standards (100x100, 40kb or less, .png, .gif, or .jpg).
- No animation. All resources (brushes, textures, text, etc.) are fine
- Your icon must be new for this challenge. Please do not use old icons.
- Do not display your entry anywhere until after the voting results are posted.
- Post your icon and its URL as a comment to this post. All comments for this post will be screened.
- Entries will be due Friday, 28th August, 2009 midnight GMT.
- If you are skipping this challenge, please leave a comment letting me know. You earn a point just for participating each week, but if you skip 3 challenges in a row, you will be disqualified.
