CROSSOVER of Sherlock with Torchwood. A responce to a challenge set by Sherlockmas:
Mycroft tried to recruit Toshiko to be his assistant before Anthea.
Mycroft, Toshiko, Jack, Ianto:
no warnings:
“Tosh?” Jack shouted.
“Yeah, Jack?” She called back from the station outside his office, then headed his way.
“Tell me again about this Mycroft fellow.”
“Oh, my only other visitor at the prison? Charming fellow.” She replied from the doorway.
“Mm. What did he offer you?” John indicated the visitor’s chair for her.
“Essentially the same as you.” Tosh sat down, a poised woman, well dressed, clear of eye, and although very private, also clearly doing very well professionally.
“Why didn’t you take it? You’d have been free long before I dropped by?”
“I did. I was just never released.” Tosh replied.
“Why not?” Jack asked.
“I did a little research.” Tosh replied.
“I thought you might.” Jack smiled encouragingly at her.
“Mycroft Holmes needed a computer expert to look at something he considered a technology so forward it could revolutionize British intelligence gathering.”
“And?”
“Torchwood One took it away from him, and even erased the records of his visit to me.” Tosh replied.
“Which is why I didn’t know about it till now. Mycroft has just been to the prison looking for you. He’s put out a ‘search’ for you.” Jack turned his screen to show her.
“Now that’s unusual.”
“Yeah. I wonder what he wants.” Jack replied. “Are you up for finding out?”
“Of course. Just tell me how you’d like it done.”
“Well. You might drop by and have a chat with him. He does seem to like to park his car in rather odd places.” Jack showed her a surveillance camera of some spot in London. Not the regular CCTV, they had no access at this place, she knew at a glance.
“I’ll get my ID.”
“Ianto? Tosh may need back-up for a discreet get-away.”
“On it.” Ianto Jones called back. Then as Tosh came nearer him, hissed, “Where are we going?”
“Buckingham Palace. Don’t worry, I’ve been there before. I won’t get lost.”
She walked in using her fake ID, while Ianto sat back on a park bench, looking at the Palace, gawking like any tourist with real interest, while gulping down his fish and chips. He had a camera on his belly for an alibi and planned to take photographs for a bit, then stroll on to where he had parked their get-away vehicle, a scooter with two helmets.
Tosh was wearing a low key mike disguised as a piece of jewellery and he could follow her polite conversation with the series of footmen who was bringing her through from the East Entrance to the Queen’s Gallery courtyard.
Tosh nodded her thanks to the last footman, and headed directly between two parked cars, then slid into the right one, where Mycroft Holmes sat looking rather startled.
“You wanted to see me?” Tosh asked him, not adding a Sir. In her book, he hadn’t earned one. “Not to mention, that little favour you still owe me. Which is rather overdue?”
The man did something to the laptop he was holding and passed it to Tosh.
“Ah, yes. That was taken care of some time ago. I work for Torchwood now. And you’re not in the loop.” She deleted the whole file-library, effectively crashing his computer, and returned it to him. Then she slid back out of the car, walked out the Queen’s Gate entrance, and headed across the road to where Ianto was just revving up the scooter, apparently holding a parking ticket in his hand. Tosh slid on the pink helmet as she got on behind him, and told him. “Case dismissed.”
Ianto drove them safely through London to where another blind spot meant they were able to change, and part, and get down into the tube system, unseen by any CCTVs. And it wasn’t one of the known trouble spots. Tosh had hacked into the London CCTV system for Jack that morning before they left Cardiff, just to make sure nobody traced the old Torchwood One link to it back to Torchwood Three. Suzie would be so annoyed she had missed all the fun.
