Summary: Suddenly a somber symphony was replaced with the verve of an American big band, and Captain Harkness was leaning against the bar, taking off his greatcoat and ordering a martini.
Why you should read it: Algy was a minor character in the Dr. Who episode 'The Empty Child' but he's one of the ways we're introduced to Jack, long before Torchwood, or the Gamestation. I love stories about Jack before the Torchwood era and this story is a nice full circle, present to past and - unlike most stories about Jack's past - a gentle visit to one of his earlier times. We also see Jack through someone else's eyes and the impact he's had on peoples lives, both large and small.
