Why you should read it: For all the alien stories, that is stories about the team, or others, interacting with aliens, I've never seen another one quite like this. I can't actually think of ways to describe how much I liked this one, or what specifically I liked about it, without spoiling it. The way alex51324 describes things - the setting, the feelings, everything - has a sort of immediacy that grabbed me and I was right there, could imagine just what this situation would be like. As calm as Ianto appears, I could feel the thrum of anxiety beneath his skin, and got swept up in the story trying to figure it out just as he was.
