Summary: Donna didn't believe in the man in the blue box, despite what her daughter said.
Why you should read it: This is the second 'Donna' fic I've recced. Jack plays a significant roll, but essentially the story is all about Donna. Does it belong in a Torchwood recs community? I'll let you decide. I enjoyed it too much not to rec it. Essentially, Donna has a daughter who talks about the man in the blue box, stories her Grandfather has told her about. The Doctor is woven into this story in the spaces between words, always mentioned, never seen. Jack puts in an appearance and stays for awhile. To say more is to ruin the surprises, so I won't.
Donna's voice is so perfectly 'Donna' throughout, though quieter, perhaps the way someone's mummy should be. Jack is perfect and wonderful and...let's just say don't miss the scene in the closet at Donna's job. Don't. And the Doctor is, unfortunately, still the Doctor. Heroes don't always consider the smaller consequences of their actions. The final sentence is perfect and grand and may bring tears to your eyes. By the end of the story, despite everything, Donna is finally allowed a happy ending, not a perfect ending, but a realistic ending. I, for one, am glad.
