Title: Press the Ache Until it Goes Away
Author: skellerbvvt
Rating: open
Length: oneshot
Pairing(s)/Character(s): team
Genre/Category: vignettes, character study
Warnings: none
Spoilers: none
Summary: He didn’t need or want anything to be his crutch through the day. No religion, no family, no friends, no women, no ruddy little trinket, song or anything. None of that, those could all be taken away, or lost, or made fun of.

Why you should read it: skellerbvvt's work is always astonishing and this series of character studies is no different. In two or three paragraphs she illuminates their inner lives and you see them as they are - inside where no one else goes. The vignettes are intensely private, almost voyeuristic, complicated and quietly woven through with the conflicts and pain that Torchwood brings to everyone who is a part of it.

The last vignette, I must admit, I like the best and makes me ache a bit - as it should.
