It just occurred to me that drabbles are in many ways like poetry...
They have a precise form. (100 words for a drabble, 14 lines for a sonnet.)
Making something to fit the form is a satisfaction in itself.
The form shapes what is said, and working to a form is a help in writing.
Being short, they are often impessionistic and suggestive.
To convey a lot in a few words, allusions and shared references are used.
Every word counts.
