I've made it "home" to Knoxville.
The drive to Memphis was very long and I almost fell asleep.. I was more than a little bit tired from the night before! Kim's lingerie shower was so much fun. Stephanie and I made her a penis cake!! It was strawberry flavored. Kim got some beautiful lingerie, which she is soo excited about wearing. She got a Kama Sutra book and plenty of lube as well. She's well-prepared for her wedding night!
Stephanie and I saw Graceland on Friday. Amazing. Elvis is truly alive through his legend and the people who still believe in him. It was Elvis Week 2005, the 25th anniversary of his death, I think. We thought it was going to be crazy packed, but it wasn't bad at all.
We ate lots of BBQ the whole weekend, and McQ even managed to find a Chili's for cocktail hour. On Friday night, we (McQ, Jenny, Amy, Stephanie, and I) hit up Beal Street, where we got wristbands for the night and explored bars. There was a Pat O's, where, like good Louisianaians, we stopped for a hurricane. Then there was all three floors of Club 251, and this really great bar called Silky O'Sullivans, home of the Diver. There's supposedly one in NO, and we're gonna find it!! The Diver is a huge drink in a bucket with a million straws for everyone to share. It has beer and wine and liquor in it, and amazingly, it was really good. When we were leaving Beal Street, I saw one of my friends from high school and LSU.... the amazing John Harvey!! I have missed him. We never hang out anymore... except for when we are both on vacation out-of-state, apparently. He was in town for his gf's sister's graduation.
On Saturday during the day, Stephanie, Amy, and I went shopping while Jenny and McQ did Graceland (for 5 hours). Kim's wedding that night was fabulous and beautiful. We had a Zeta cheering section in the back, and we all decided that it was the most perfect wedding ever. We drank and we danced with each other, and we were sad when ALL of us had to line up for the bouquet (there were like 3 single guys in the whole place). We were all quite tipsy and very emotional at the end of the night, and we went back to the hotel and some of us had a good cry. Zeta love all around.
I'm in Knoxville, at my parent's rent house. My rent's rent house, lol. I've seen the new house, it's coming along very nicely. It will be ready by the end of September. They are painting this week. I'm almost proud of my parents for not screwing it up. I saw some early floor plans, and they were awful. It turned out great, and the customizations are awesome! Two shower heads in the shower! Surround sound! Gigantic kitchen! Double vanity upstaris so my sister and I don't have to share a sink! w00t.
I am on a diet for the first time in my life and I hate it. I'm always hungry and cranky. Fruit doesn't fill me up, that's why I don't eat it. I hate fruit cups! All I want to do is put something naughty in my mouth, but I can't. No cookies!
My dad took me hiking yesterday. 8.2 miles. And then we saw this cave, which was another mile and a half. It was quite the nature-filled day. But the mountains are pretty and I did enjoy it very much.
Today I am running errands and shopping for clothes and more wedding presents. I am flying to NJ early tomorrow morning for Bethany's wedding. BFF since kindergarten. Mixed emotions both ways, but I can't wait to see her.
