Paris was a whirlwind of museums and cathedrals. I had an incredible time, as I'm sure
tattermuffin and her mother did as well.

Well, after all, the de Milo and the Mona Lisa were both underwhelming. Thus the not mentioning. :)
I'm glad you're enjoying the scarf. Can you believe I bought two more scarves after that? Ha! I bought a small square satin (polyester) one in reds, pinks, and purples, and a long narrow filmy one (also polyester) in greens and blues. Both were *really* cheap (2 and 5 euros respectively). :) I love them all, my Paris scarves.
I'm missing the crepes and pastries of France, the ones here are not as good. Except the apfelstrudel with vanillesauce was fabulous, but that was near the Austrian border, and I hear regular German apfelstrudel is not as good. Anyway, the food that I've had here has been good, but different. Wienerschnitzel is nothing like I expected (it's pork cutlet hammered thin and covered in breading and fried, served with potatoes au gratin with onions, with a side of cranberry sauce). I thought it was sausage and sauerkraut! Silly me! In any case, it's delicious and filling. I've also had goulasch (or however they spell it) which was yummy. So I'm quite enjoying the food.
Amusingly, I actually had a craving for tonkatsu the other day. So maybe it just takes longer for me to miss certain food. No doubt I'll be missing lamb sandwiches in another month or so! ;)
