Is it can be blogz tiem plz?
Oops, it's been nearly a month. Time flies.
Life is trundling along just fine at the moment... nothing spectacular to report. A few weeks ago, darts maestro Phil Taylor came to our local pub (having postponed last time) and we had our names down to play against him in what we were originally told was a team event (so we had a 'team' of northernget, jaythevman, my friend Vij and myself, along with our mascot thegreekgeek), but it turned out that he was going to be playing singles matches with some people who actually knew what they were doing. What with the bright lights and the crowd, we were quite happy to lurk in the shadows and watch from a distance. We did get to shake hands and chat with Phil and the referee bloke (Russ Bray, the one on telly with the really scratchy voice) though, and got some silly photos as well.
Work news - should be hearing shortly about my 'regrading', although I suspect it's going to take the form of being bumped up a few levels on the scale rather than a regrade as such. We've just been told that we're going to be moved down the road into the town hall, which the university have bought part of, in October - and in the meantime, because they need to do construction work, we're being moved into temporary accommodation (i.e. a classroom) for a bit and then into further temporary accommodation (no doubt a smelly basement somewhere) in September before the final move. By October I will have worked in 9 different offices at this campus in the space of 5 years.
Generally - last month sucked quite a lot, mostly because I was ill for virtually the entire month and because of the knock-on effects from that, but things are slowly getting better and I'm recovering my enthusiasm for things. I've cheered up quite a bit (particularly on Saturday after a mad conversation with blonde_viki) and I'm looking forward to the Rock Werchter, which I should probably be doing something about preparing for. And I managed to spend nearly £200 on myself, and although I hate shopping, it's nice having new stuff :)
Gratuitously cryptic blogging - I'm slightly concerned I'm going to get carried away with something I should possibly be a lot more careful about.
