Wow... Wednesday was a looooong and busy day. I got up at 6:30am and got to work at 7am and didn't take a break until 7:30pm.
The day was crazy busy and about as Fracked up as I expected. But I made it through and all was good.
Afterwards, I went and had dinner with Dianna Stein and Heather Bruton at Champions for a quick bite and then at 9:00 I met up with Matt, Travis and the Crafty crew for a meeting to give them their printed goodies.
After that it was to the Hard Rock Cafe for hanging out with friends and folks and getting this year's pins (an angel girl and a demon girl), and then headed back to the hotel, where they had decked out their Circle City Bar & Grille as The Red Dragon Inn since the Marriott is also the location for the Real Dungeon, I assume.
Other than that, it was a pretty uneventful day.
THURSDAY
It started out okay... came down to the Exhibit hall at 8am to let the Crafty Games guy in to bring his banner to the booth, but waited until *:50 for his arrival and wound up working on and off anyways just to be helpful.
I met up with Diana Stein and Heather Bruton, Dale & Matt from Canada (Dale's showing his "Revelations" bike here at the art show and getting a lot of praise and attention for it.
I played a little Rock Band 2 as the doors opened, but didn't get back on stage before they started the competitions (I would have gotten a ticket for it, but it was based on style, not points, and while I enjoy the style part of it, I'm not comfortable enough and I'd rather play it for point competition.) I stopped by Chessex and asked about the old 90's Werewolf: the Apocalypse dice. Yes, they made them, but didn't know where I might find more. However, they did say that they can do custom dice... even just one at a time. Hmmm.. REALLLY??! They didn't know (or nessecarily think) that White Wolf would have any sort of control or pattent on the specific mix/color for the dice, but I decided to go ask and find out anyways. So off I went to White Wolf's booth to inquire... They didn't think there would be a problem with the colors, as long as I didn't want the "Moon Phase" die. That's fine by me. I asked if there would be a way of requesting permission to use the Bastet logo on them, and I was given their licensing person's contact name.
Then... I asked an interesting question to the White Wolf folks:
"Do you have any plans on creating any products or support for the Old World of Darkness?" To which I got this really interesting smile and grin, then quickly restrained and hum-hawed a little bit and said "ummm, I can't, um, you know.." To which I said "Oh, I understand... you can't tell me whether or not you are working on something, whether or not you're planning on it either." To which he nodded. I made a few jokes about "who would I have to get drunk at the White Wolf party to find out?" but then let them know that I have friends who are nostalgic for the old WoD and if they were to create some sort of book or support for the old system, or even an "After the End of the World" sort of scenario book, I would be interested in supporting it. I found out that many of the "old guard" of the 90s are still on staff and I may talk to them later this con about it all and see if I can't get a few more tid-bits of info... muah-hah-hah.
... but for now, it's 3pm and I'm sitting at at Exhibitor HQ, trying to decide if I want to order food, or wait until late tonight in the hopes that I have someone to go to dinner with rather than just eating alone.
