A Depressed Christmas
A sign of the times, I would assume, but there seems to be an ongoing contest of sorts for who can create the most depressing song for Christmas, as well as writing songs about lonliness at Christmas... not because you're home away from home, but rather that you're a lonely person and depressed.
Most Depressing:
"Christmas Shoes" by Newsong -- a song about a child who doesn't have enough money to buy shoes for his dying mother over Christmas... who might not make it to Christmas. (YouTube link to the music video)
New this year:
"The Cat Carol" by Meryn Cadell -- a song about a do-gooder cat who decides to save a mouse from a blizzard, who herself dies and Santa and his reindeer have to tell the mouse that his friend has died saving him.

"I Hate Christmas Parties" by Relient K -- Just being a lonely person at parties where everyone's apparently full of cheer and you can't figure out why you're there... you'd rather just be stashed away until it's all over.
