a good concept in theory but thanks to the housing market its pretty impracticle as if we held true to that then only the richest persons on the planet would be able to purchase homes. If used correctly credit can even the playing field, problem is that credit companies want to make money too and because of this their rules and terms sometimes are unreasonable or create a debt spiral should people accidentally be unable to make a payment or have a mental block and forget to pay it.
