Mar 08, 2011 03:09

[The video switches on to show Fran leaning back against the wall in front of the PokéCenter in Violet City, one hand toying with something in his pocket. Sitting next to him is his Ninetails, Fina Maria, who keeps nudging against his leg impatiently. For now, he pays her no mind.]I finally got my badge. It wasn't fast enough though, and I probably ( Read more... )

[He's squatting in the grass probably just outside of town. The spinarak on his shoulder waves at the camera.]

Mine are all named pretty obviously. And if I did do favorites, it'd be based on behaviour or on use or on strength, but not on name.

I've got one right now that's incredibly weak, [He nudges the spinarak, which makes a confused sound but doesn't seem to mind] but I still keep him around because he can get better. Wouldn't want any that don't have a use, though that doesn't have to be fighting necessarily.

[Fran simply stares for a minute, almost thoughtful if one were to be able to pick up the minuscule changes in his near unreadable expressions.]

Yeah, I guess.

[He moves to sit against the wall of the building, the fox now eye level with him.]

I was kinda talking about Fina Maria here. She's the only one not hurt right now because she never fights. I've never actually used her in a battle before despite having her longer than most the others. I didn't know if she could fight, but she refuses to. She'll do everything else I tell her, but won't ever fight.

[His head tilts to the side as he looks at her and then back to the gear.]

I thought before she was just really weak. That she had been evolved at a young age. But she's not. She's almost twice the level of Amber. I kept her with me cause she was good for heat and a pillow. Now I kinda wonder if she won't fight for me because she's insulted.

Your guess is as good as mine. If she does everything else you say though, what'd she be insulted by?

[A half shrug, the Ninetails in question quickly growing bored of simply sitting and begins chewing on Fran's hand in hopes of him getting up to do something entertaining. He only spares her another glance, easily brushing off the sting.]

Don't know. Maybe that I thought she was useless? Guess it doesn't matter. I'm just going to have to chose to leave one of my team in storage now, and was wondering if I should keep her with me or have her be the one who goes. I think we're only allowed to travel with six. I've got by with seven recently since four of them hatched here in Violet and we haven't traveled since, but I don't think I can keep doing it.

[Squalo shrugs again.] But if she refused to fight in the first place I don't get why she'd be insulted.

What all did you hatch here?

I don't know. Think Pokémon have pride? I guess I could ask Amber. He's usually reading my mind a lot and talking to me.

[She at least stops using his hand as a chewtoy when she accidentally draws blood and-Nope. He's still not acknowledging it. The Ninetails pretty much gives up and resigns herself to boredom until her pain in the ass trainer decides he's done talking.]

A Magikarp, Skarmory, Charmander and Eevee were all hatched here. Three of them have even evolved since then. Guess this place is kind of like their hometown by now.

[For a moment there, Squalo just stares at Fran who's been chewed up until he started bleeding and doesn't pay it any mind whatsoever. Okay, yeah. He could picture Belphegor using him for target practice now. Looks like he'll be stuck babysitting in the future even more than now.]

...No idea whether they have pride or not. Assuming a cat or a dog does, I figure they would too. Asking's your safest bet though.

Hey, how long do eggs usually take to hatch?
