So I am in Moldova, where today's presidential election vote count is almost done. And the current populist president managed directly by Putin lost the election to the pro-Western anti-corruption candidate (former World Bank economist in the US). She is also a woman. Not far from where we are based in Moldova a woman died. Her daughter (a child) got food poisoning (it is very hot in Moldova at the moment) at her wake after the funeral and died. The girl died from the food poisoning she got at her mother's funeral. Sometimes real life is weirder than fiction.

This took longer than it should have but Norway joined the EU in recognising the new Moldovan government (see my previous entry for context):
