The fact of the matter is, no matter what you think of the King, the monarchy, or the coronation ... this was history and I was glad I got to see, at least, some of it.

My thought when watching all the long robes, props, chairs, steps, words, swords, musicians, goblets with liquid, horses, small children for FOUR hours; was that whomever came up with this a thousand years ago had zero clue it would one day need to be done live to hundreds of millions. It's like the theatrical play from hell, that has to be broadcast across the globe.
That everyone got through it without screwing any of it up, is a minor miracle.

I think it was just an expensive and quite boring theatre performance rather than history. Because it has no real impact and nothing in history depends on it. All European monarchs are just theatre now.

If history is everything that happened and not the important milestones that impact the course of the world, then me having clotted cream is history too. It happened and it is not important but it is history. The term becomes meaningless.
