so the moms came in 2 days ago without a hitch- their flights were well and they got to the hotel in good time. this hotel is incredible -- its the nicest place i have ever stayed at, though i do feel a little disconnected from the "local scene" i spose its best not to be connected with company like my mom - i dunno, its just a different side to vacationing. every other time ive been staying in crappy hotels and stuff and i still had fun but i am enjoying this nice hotel club del mar. yesterday we took the moms to tres pescinas or the three pools which is a series of waterfalls (3 to be exact) that you can jump into from really high and we had a blast. i took my camera and got TONS of pics and video clips - one of the video clips is of ben and myslef jumping from so high...at least 25 feet into the bottom pool. its so cool and i wish i could show it to you sometime but unfortunatly - my camera was stolen yesterday so i cant (mrs. cherry also had her camera stolen...she also had some credit cards and other documents AND the keys to our hotel and safe inside the hotel). i lost not only 450 USD worth of electronics, but 150 pictures and videos all from the trip . from thomas (our incredibly funny group leader) to angel (the stray dog that we took in and fed everyday and in return she would try to catch cars for us, ahha) to all the other people that i met on the trip (isla, chad, steve and his wife, all of the california kids) and to think some fucking bastard is going to pawn that for a couple hundred bucks makes me very upset. oh well. theres a few things that i KNOW: 1.NOTHING that ever happens is outside of Gods power or purpose and 2. everything that i "own" is Gods anyways and im just renting it...still, even with that knowledge its hard to let it go. but in the end. its just a camera. i did get to go to the costa rican FBI to report the crime (just for insurance purposes...they will never be able to find it) that was kind of fun. a nice girl named erica from the hotel came with ben, myself , and bens mom to help translate....even though ben and i speak a little spanish..its not fluent so to have someone who can speak fluent spanish was AWESOME -- when we first walked in erica wasnt with us and the guy just says "aqui, nada habla inglish" here no-one speaks english. i just wanted to punch him in the face when he said that . but i didnt, and we came to the hotel and met erica and she had sympathy (that story was backwards but i think it still workd).
its been a great time - ive been given the opportunity to see another country and culture and i did some stinky mission work as well and plus. ive got the memories in me cabeza (head) and im still alive. thats quite the entry i know...but there was a lot to talk about
