And what I mean by that is that rather than thinking a simple statement is enough, I think further arguments need to be presented, like the article's author did.
Isn't there a code of ethics for pharmacists? There is for every other profession I know of. You'd think that one of the fundamental tenets of that code would be that you don't pass judgment on people for the medicine they are prescribed. I think the licensing agency for pharmacists should revoke their licenses.
As a librarian I'm not to judge people based on their information needs. Just the other day I was helping a kid who was trying to find an article on interactions between Ecstasy and Prozac. I could tell he was a little bit squeamish about asking, but once he realized that I was there to help him and not raise my eyebrows, he relaxed.
If the customer/patron has a reasonable expectation that they're going to be able to get something and you reasonably should have expected to have to provide it when you took your job or remained at your job you should just stop being a dick and provide the service that they came for.

If the customer/patron has a reasonable expectation that they're going to be able to get something and you reasonably should have expected to have to provide it when you took your job or remained at your job you should just stop being a dick and provide the service that they came for.
