Miranda has made a daisy chain. She has made several-- one, a crown in her hair, others for bracelets and even one wrapped around her waist. The longest yet is coiled around itself in her lap, and she is still adding to the end. There is little fun in such a great, long chain with no one to give it to.

Melou practically eees when he sees her; Miranda always cheers him up enormously. "Oh, thou'rt the most beautiful queen--"

She laughs and stands, going to him at once and draping the long loop over his shoulder, like a sash.

Eeeeeeeeee.

He very, very carefully very loosely ties it so that it is even more sashlike, and smiles at her.

"Art well, my lord?" she asks, smiling, too.

[lesser_son]

"Ay--ay, very well. And glad to be with thee."

[topofadmiration]

The smile brightens, then she hesitates. "And-- how is thy brother?"

[lesser_son]

She just would have to mention him. "He is--well," is what Melou settles for.

She lowers her eyes and nods. "I am glad."

[lesser_son]

"And thou art, too?" brightening up again.

[topofadmiration]

"Yes," she says, brightening in turn.

[lesser_son]

"I--I know thou hast my ring, and I meant to ask thee--"

[topofadmiration]

"Yes?"

[lesser_son]

"Wouldst--wouldst thou be married soon?"

[topofadmiration]

"O, yes, my lord!"

[lesser_son]

He reaches for her hand, all very earnest. "I would wed thee."

She takes it and holds fast. "I know it, my lord."
