"Good day, sir," she says politely, because he looks so familiar.

He looks up, blinking. "Afternoon."

She looks closely at him, longer and more intently than is strictly considered polite, then asks hesitantly, "Know you he called Melou, sir?"

"I--" He looks at her again. "Why?"

"I-- I know him well," she says shyly, lowing her eyes.

"Do you."

"Yes, sir," she says, turning a bit pink.

He looks at her with weary surmise. "And who are you?"

"Miranda, my lord."

"Miranda." He pushes his hands through his hair. "And you're in love with my son, is that it?"

"You son, sir!"

"Mm-hm."

...Melou's description probably didn't include "short and amused-looking", did it.

Someone really needs to just tell her that it isn't polite to stare. "O! He did not--"

"Didn't mention he had a father?" Mordred just finds this entire thing too absurd to take seriously.
