[The door to Miranda's room is wide open. Its inhabitant is perched on the windowsill, the window flung open and her legs dangling out. She is leaning out as far as she can, to best catch the feel of the snow. It is, perhaps, a somewhat precarious position, but she does not notice.]

Well, here's someone who does notice. The Eyrien Prince who has appointed himself her older brother pokes his head in the room, noticing the open door, and then blinks and says in a voice a little sharp with alarm, "Miranda, what are you doing?"

She starts at the unexpected sound, but turns and smiles. "Sitting, sir."

"You could call me Lucivar, you know," he says a little peevishly. "Don't lean out like that. You'll fall off."

"I shall not," she replies, almost stubbornly. "I shall hold tight."

"You'd better," he informs her. "If I have to dive out of a window and catch you, I'll have to be a little pissed."

"Pissed," she repeats under her breath, mentally storing the word away. Its meaning she has derived from context. She turns then, though, and hops down off of the windowsill, shaking snow off of her skirt and out of her hair.

He looks relieved. "Thank you, Lady," he says with a gallant bow, looking a little perturbed when she repeats the word and wishing he could remember to moderate his language.

If he hadn't noticed the way she avoids touch, he would ruffle her hair. "Almost more than Jaenelle. Almost, though."

"Jaenelle. Is that your sister, sir?"

A fond smile. "That she is. And a pain in the -" a pause - "Rear end, too."

"But surely she is not, sir, if she is a sister of yours."
