(no subject)
Now while many of you were sitting in your little hidy holes reading Harry potter, i was outside enjoying the summer weather that finally came to oregon this weekend. yesterday i rode 20 miles all over town. Great thing about the portland metro area is that there are tons of bike lanes all over. and believe me, a bike lane is very nice on busy roads. i got my first sunburn of the summer while riding...too bad its going to be a farmers tan. Then after biking all morning i came back and helped my dad replace a fence post that finally gave out after 20some years. then after a little rest i tackled cleaning up of my pond that i made last summer. i havent put any water into it yet, but it should be good. I might go out there right after im done with this so i can finish it before the weekend is over.
This morning i went and ran an 8k race with Joel, my running partner. Its called beat the burnside and basically you can start when ever you want to just so long as you get to the burnside bridge in downtown portland before 9am when the bridge starts to go up. The trick is waiting to the last minute to start the race. i started it around 8:31, but who knows what my "offical" time was considering the offical clock was way wrong. This was a fast race with quite a bit of downhill and some up hill. Joel and i must have been in better shape than we thought cuz we both broke 27 min and had a time of 26:50 which is a 5:24 pace. If i can run this fast now, i might have a chance at breaking 26 min by the end of xc season! that would RULE! After the race joel, one of his friends and i went to Denny's and had breakfast. its become a tradition after finishing beat the burnside. this was actually my third and best time running it. After the race i rested a little bit then went to the mall with tim. That was fun, i havent hung out with tim much this summer because of running and working so it was good.
Well thats it from here...next time ill go on about how horrible this world is because jk rowling is a billionaire. Maybe im missing something. lol
