America's Next Top Model alum Analeigh Tipton is Tinseltown's breakout star.

"I am not graceful," America's Next Top Model graduate Analeigh Tipton says, laughing. "I can do a runway for five minutes, but when it comes to walking in heels all day, I bitch and I moan! It's just no good."

Luckily, Analeigh's new career path is a little more forgiving. The 22-year-old, who's also working on a screenplay, is getting major attention for her role as a love-struck babysitter who pines for Steve Carell's character in this summer's smart comedy Crazy, Stupid, Love. Analeigh claims playing a gawky teenager came easily for the girl who ate her high school lunches in the teachers' lounge. "People come up and say, 'It was so great how you portrayed that awkwardness!'" she says. "And I'm like, Heh heh heh, yes. Acting!"

Though she placed third during the season she appeared on Top Model, Analeigh soon decided she'd rather act than pose. "It was just not for me," she says. "I live in my head too much, and I missed writing and performing." Now, with upcoming turns in the film Damsels in Distress and HBO's Hung, she's convinced that she made the right decision, even if her job occasionally requires her to get glam too. "I dress like a boy most of the time because I like what's comfortable, so sometimes when I have to wear dresses and makeup, it's kind of comedic," Analeigh says. "I take lots of pictures on my cell phone: 'Look, I'm dressed like a girl! Surprise!'"

The 22-year-old starlet plays it smart-even when she's taking off her clothes.

Most Hollywood aspirants arrive seeking celebrity. Analeigh Tipton had to have it thrust upon her. "I moved to L.A. to write and direct," the 22-year-old actress says. "I had no intentions of being in front of the camera." But after an America's Next Top Model scout spotted her on Myspace, she became a contestant on the show and signed with Ford.

Then, last year, she landed a role in The Green Hornet and immediately took a shine to her new vocation. "When you're acting, you're a person," she says. "When you're modeling, you're a hanger. You're only as good as the shape of your ass-or lack thereof." Tipton is already a hot commodity, thanks to her breakout role in the new comedy Crazy, Stupid, Love as a gawky teenage babysitter with a crush on a married man. She just finished shooting Whit Stillman's comeback, Violet Wister's Damsels in Distress, and this fall she'll have a recurring part as a schizophrenic pimp-in-training on HBO's Hung.

"There was a long pause when I told my dad about that one," Tipton says, laughing. "But I keep saying, 'The characters I'm playing are smart.' They might not always be fully clothed, but they're smart."
