The Cover girl makeup

Dec 03, 2010 12:27

I cannot be the only one who desperately wants whatever makeup the models display in their final cover girl ads.  I loved the fruit spritzers lip gloss from some time ago.  I hate the falsies mascara...it  clumps like no tomorrow.  Any of you rush out to get the makeup too?

Covergirl tests on animals and knowing that, I can't use their products because it gets on my conscience :\

(But tbh, it's hard to pick out which brands are bunny approved because they're probably owned by a larger company that DOES test on animals or they claim they don't test on animals because the finished product is not tested on animals, but it is tested along the way.)

I'm glad that 99% of my products are on that list (aka mostly MAC). Some of my other products aren't on the list, but their websites say that they don't test on animals. Although that website does list vegan as one of the requirements =p

Yeah I can imagine D:

I have a lot of respect for people who lead a vegan lifestyle. I couldn't do it myself, but kudos to everyone who does :)

Animal tested make up products gets on your conscious but eating animals doesn't? hmmm

LOL I see that you're trying to present me with a flawed argument while trying to insinuate that I'm a hypocrite. Where did I say I eat animals? Let's try to not assume things about people? hmmm

Testing makeup products on animals is unnecessary because makeup is a luxury product. People eat animals for nutritional reasons, it's not inhuman or unnatural to eat meat. I am not ignorant of the fact that people get by just fine if they don't eat meat and neither am I ignorant of the food industry. You know what is ignorant though? Attempting to call people out for their views being different from yours.

If you eat meat and are against animal cruelty that makes you a hypocrite no matter how many times you say that eating animals is "not inhumane".

Here I have to pipe in. While I don't actually have anything against people eating meat, while I don't myself, I am right now in a medical program where the topic of the moment is the digestive system. The one thing my entire class has learned from this is that eating meat is most certainly unnatural. Human beings cannot actually digest a very significant portion of the meat that is eaten, and most of it decomposes in the body and is then excreted.

Yeah I was watching "Wife Swap" one day where a vegetarian's new mom was one from Texas so of course all they are was MEAT! The vegetarian family basically couldn't shit for days since their body was so used to not eating meat all they did was become constipated, lol disgusting but true. Meat just rots in your intestines, so disgusting and bad for you ugh.
