shyness and double standards

Something that got on my nerves during the last ep was when ALT mentioned that being shy doesn't mean you can't be successful, which might be true but is still a complete one-eighty from pretty much everything these girls have been told, ever.

It also irked me that he only said this about Ann, while he criticized Kayla and Jane for not showing their personalities during their interviews.

Has a girl ever been praised for having a more reserved personality before? Or is this just another double standard?

And does anyone have any ~favorite~ double standards? I always enjoy it when Tyra & Co suddenly realize the twenty-five-year-old that they themselves hand-selected for the show is TWENTY-FIVE AND THIS CAN NEVER BE. That and their treatment of girls with glasses--like how Amanda in C3 (the one who was legally blind, which I think was mentioned a few times) was shamed for wearing her glasses to panel, but Ann's been able to show up looking homeless and no one's breathed a word.

For the record, I like Ann, really, but I'm not into all the exceptions everyone's making for her.
