Kind of getting sociological here...

I've been noticing for a while in ANTM (and Make Me a Supermodel, too, and, I assume, other reality shows) that contestants will often say that they really, want to win just so bad, with the undercurrent of "I deserve to win because I want it so bad." Even despite actual performance, so many contestants seem to ( Read more... )

Exactly. I agree...I must say before I start though that MMAS is SO MUCH BETTER THAN ANTM. omg.

You can want anything really bad but sometimes if you don't have even the smallest ounce of natural talent, you're not going to get it. Especially in modeling, there are so many factors you can't control. You can't want it bad enough that it doesn't matter what your face looks like, what your body looks like, what your personality is. If you're too short, you can still want it bad, but you're not going to get it, tbh. I know people are always like KATE MOSS OMG!!!!!!!! but honestly, that is what I call a ONE TIME THING. Just because you're short and have a pretty stunning face doesn't mean you're going to be the next Kate Moss and next supermodel/top model.

end of rant.

Also, I doubt that Montuaha is going to win MMAS. She seems a little big...not to be mean. But she looks too large to be a real top model to me.

i like montuaha, and like they always harped on salome for being big, but montuaha has a 26.25 inch waist. neither woman is big in any sense, but they don't have the best model bodies. though, montuaha has killer legs.

Idk, in fashion you have to be stick skinny and they both look like they have hot and slightly curvy bodies. I always feel so harsh saying something like this about their perfectly healthy amazing bodies but it's true with fashion.

Oh and I hope Jonathan wins because he has a killer body and just because of his situation...

Jonathan is a sexy beast (though he's a bit too muscular for my liking) and a strong model. His accent makes me melt.

me too. i don't normally go for muscles but jonathon is muscular without being bulky. just, ah! as in ah-mazing. my god he is attractive, but on top of that i think he is a good model and seems like a nice guy.

If he doesn't win it'll be a total croc, imo. Also @ stick skinny models comment: I actually think there's quite a few more curvy top models now. I don't necessarily mean plus-size big, but it seems to me that the boobs are back. And butts.

As for Mountaha and Salome... both of them aren't models and should have gone long before either Colin or Jordan did. They're practically the same person with different hair colors to me. Their bodies and faces have a similar quality that I don't like and don't think is compatible with actual modeling. I'd even go so far as to describe it as "a little pudgy". Heck, even my Mom who loves that show can't tell them apart.

Colin was a beautiful, beautiful and endearing young man, but he couldn't take a picture to save his life. he was my favorite from the pre-show, and was my favorite during the show because he was just so perfect looking. but alas.

i didn't like jordan. i found her personality so repugnant. so while she could photograph well, i was SO GLAD when she left. besides that, i didn't particularly find her face/look that compelling or as compelling as either Salome or Mountaha.

Yeah, I freaking LOVED Jordan.

I guess I understand what you mean about curvier models like Lara Stone<3, but her face.........haha. And their faces....

It bothered me how Salome won so many challenges.
